Stay In Your Lane - Words Of Wisdom

Stay in your lane...you don't see swimmers crossing over into the next lane.  Or yoga students hopping on to another yogi’s mat.  Focus on what is here and now.

The first time I heard @glennondoyle say this, I felt as though she was talking directly to me and through me at the same time.  Subsequently, I have used this mantra throughout my life.

“Stay on your mat, Glennon. The staying is making you.” #Untamed

I prefer to practice at the front of the class for this reason.  Everyone thinks the front is for the people who know what they are doing.  Wrong!  It is for the people who don’t know what they are doing, but they are staying the course and not looking over onto the next mat to see the pretzel beside.  All they have is the wall in front of them and themselves.  Unless there is a mirror...then what I just said is completely obsolete...Ha!

“I can if I want to because it’s my business.” @iamtabithabrown

Tell others to stay in their own lanes too.  Ideas from others like moms, sisters, aunts, and friends who haven’t been on the journey can be unhelpful. They can not enter your lane or your mat unless they are invited.

Listen to your inner voice.  Stop looking into the next lane, yard, house, etc... Stop looking around to see what everyone else is doing, saying, making, being.  You are only slowing your authentic self down.

When you stay in your lane, you are able to focus on what's here and now.  Focus on your own course.

Stay on course.

Stay in your lane.

Stay on your mat.

Be Well! Carry On, Goddesses!
