Cheers To The Worst Advice

The worst advice I ever received was to stop doing yoga.  What??????  Hold up, did you just tell me to stop doing the one thing I enjoy doing.  It just didn’t make any sense.  This person had “heard” that it was not helpful and actually detrimental to my fertility journey. Often people have opinions and advice about your business.  Try to stay away from these people and their advice.

Later, I found out this would be the furthest from my truth.  Yoga For Fertility is what saved me, but it did make me question my yoga practice.  It was, only, for a hot second, but I still doubted my inner voice for the night.

Yoga brings me peace, calm and serenity as well as flexibility, perseverance and a different understanding of the community at large.  I found a Yoga For Fertility class that helped and supported me through the hard times.  It is also why I began my business.  I, too, wanted to help women on their journey to get pregnant using other means and modalities.  One day soon, I hope to get back to a physical space where women can gather to use yoga for fertility.  If these strange times have taught me anything though, it is that I do not need a physical space to help others, I can work remotely as well.

When trying to conceive, we look to a wide range of people to offer us some guidance.  The list may look like this: moms, sisters, friends, doctors, instagram, facebook, google etc…

Rarely, do we ask ourselves: What is my advice to me?

Try this interesting exercise: Find a quiet space.  Then, give yourself the worst advice. Now, give yourself the best advice.  Notice what starts to happen in your body after each piece of advice you receive. You may even start to laugh, cry, sing, or scream.  Let it all in and release it out.

So what is the loveliest advice you have ever received either from yourself or someone else?
